The Eastern Bluebird is a familiar sight at all seasons in the southern states, but has, in recent years, remained in southern to mid-Michigan year-round. Bluebird couples in Michigan can have two or three successful nests per year, from April through the end of July into August.
After finishing nesting for the season, the Eastern Bluebird pair, along with its immature offspring, will frequently disappear for a few weeks or months, while the parents teach their kids “the ropes” of hunting and being a Bluebird, before reappearing in late autumn or early winter.
What can we learn from them? After putting in months of hard work, autumn is a time to get away, enjoy nature, look at fall colors, and become inspired to go back to work rejuvenated and refreshed.
